On our return trip we stopped over to sleep in Albuqurque New Mexico and after resting we looked on the map to review sites of interest. We found the Petroglyph National Monument located right within the city of Albuquerque.  This was a unamamous choice and we enjoyed the tour very much.  Although it was cut short due to a sudden rain storm in the area. It was well worth the visit and Faith bought a book of scenic drives in New Mexico decided to take a few on future vacations.   If you want to visit their site go here

For most of the viewings you had to take short hikes.  Here Faith and Nathan are starting up one of the longest and highest in the foothills where the petroglyphs are found

Most of the petroglyps were created between the 13th and 16th centuries (1200-1500)

This was a hillside covered in Blackeyed Susans growing wild.  As you can see the storm is approaching quickly
