Laugh A Day

This little mining ghost town is approximately 10-15 miles away from Lake Havasu Arizona. It is famous for the burros who are decendents of the miners pack animals that wander free about the town and for the hotel that Carol Lombard and Clark Gable stayed in during the peak of their stardom. It is like many other ghost towns that have remained occupied after the silver mines closed down in the early 20th century and have become tourist attractions.  For more information you can visit their official site Click Here.

Oatman Main Street...the only street in town.

As you can see the burros are free to roam the countryside and town protected by the state of Arizona.

The merchants sell carrots for tourists to feed the burros. This is done to protect the burros from the many unhealthy things tourists try to feed them.

They are very social and come right to your hand when you show the carrots.

Many times they will actually come up to you and nudge you for a carrot.

I am sitting on the stairs entering the hotel where Carol Lombard and Clark Gable stayed when they traveled through the area.

I couldn't resist being silly and posing at one of the burro photo opt locations! LOL!
