In 2005 Nathan started the year in mid-January with an exciting occurance in Las Vegas...it snowed 6 inches! This was very unusual for the desert and caught everyone by surprise. It was quite entertaining and frustrating to see desert dwellers coping with manuvering in the cold wet stuff! Of course you know the kids loved it and took the opportunity to build snow men in local parks.
Next in July his Great-Grandpa came to visit and we took a boating excursion on Lake Mead located just outside of Boulder City by Hoover Dam. It was a fun relaxing time on the lake. While his “Papaw” was visiting we also tried to take a tour of Red Rock Canyon but unfortunately there was a terrible fire taking place and the public was not allowed entrance into the area. But his Grandpa Hardenbrook came to visit a month later and the park was open so we then visited Red Rock Canyon.
