New Salem Illinois is a wonderful trip into the days of President Lincoln's years prior to office

Old State Capitol building in Springfield Illinois

A kind re-enactor posed with my sisters on the steps

Of course he took a photo of us sisters together

Inside the old capitol building

One of the local re-enactors on site

Abraham Lincoln's office in the capitol building

Abraham Lincoln's church and family pew

The old stained glass windows were beautiful

The front of Abraham Lincoln's home

Abraham Lincoln's home Sitting Room

This is his bedroom, it was a huge custom bed!

The toilet house out in the back of the property

The whole street has been renovated to the time Abraham Lincoln lived on the street

At the Great Arch in St. Louis Missouri

My sister and her daughters

We did a little souvenier shopping

Wilson Creek Battlefield site in Missouri.

The wild flowers at the site were incredible!

These wild Black-eyed Susans were everywhere!

Walking along the same road 20 thousand soldiers traveled on their way to the battle.

I am near one of the higher hills which was a cannon placement area.

My mother & I in the main battle area. The place had an uneasy energy about it.

I could not get over the wild flowers growing there...like a message of the peace so many souls had finally found knowing people cared enough to visit this place.
