The Gold King mine area is just a short 5 minute drive from Jerome, Arizona. We almost didn't know it existed if we had not read local signage posted on the street corner where the old jail of Jerome is located. As a matter of fact you cannot get to it without taking that street in Jerome. What a "hoot" it was to visit as you will see! Mayor Don reconstructed the site only a short 20 years ago for the enjoyment of the public and to display the antiquities he has saved from destruction. A very worthwhile visit!
