An amazing place to visit and see desert flora not only from here in Arizona, but from many other desert locations around the world.

This is the entrance to the gardens.

These cacti are from higher, colder habitats as well as from more tropical regions. Most cacti are native only to the Americas.

These are a variety of barrel cactus, Wooly-Headed (Echinocactus) quite unusual

These are tiny little catus which pop-up only during agreeable weather

There were many little "residents" in the garden we encountered during the tour.

This is the Boojum tree (Fouquieria calumnaris) of all things called a "The upside down tree" and grows to 70 feet tall.

This is an example of "Sanoran" Desert flora found through Arizona & Mexico.

This is called a "Crested" Suagaro (Carnegiea gigantea) cactus has a genetic deformity (1 in 100,000), quite rare.

Here is a closer look at the "Crested" Suagaro.

This tubercle cacti is of the Coryphantha and Mammillaria family. These "furry" little cacti one would think wouldn't hurt...NOT!
