First, I enjoy how beading relaxes me and completely removes me from the worries of each day. Just like a nice long soak in my garden tub! When I sit at my beading table my mind is focussed on the next project I am going to create, I am totally absorbed with the creation process and love it! If you would like to purchase any of the pieces I have created just send me an email.
Second, I have been beading since 1986 when I started to learn Belly Dancing in the San Francisco Bay Area. Of course the style of dance I began to learn was called “Ethnic” and required less beading for costumes. Once I moved to Phoenix and sought out a troupe to dance with I found mostly “Cabaret” style dancing troupes, what a delightful discovery it was! The costumes and dances have so much passion and flare, and each dancer has the opportunity to create her own style. Well needless to say I found my niche!
Beading for apparel is very different compared to beading jewelry, the supplies and tools are in no way similar. Creating jewelry is much faster than the months it takes to bead fringe and hand sew beads onto my dancing costumes. Go to my beading and handcrafted jewelry website “The Desert Bee” to view my jewelry creations, I like creating mostly simple bracelet and earring sets to wear with casual dress...i.e. jeans etc.. One of my more complicated projects was the “Lariat” which is 46 inches long and can be worn as a necklace or along with a belt for an added touch of “bling” with jeans. I enjoy creating one-of-a-kind and limited edition pieces...they make great gifts for others as well as yourself! I have even recycled jewelry like my bold pearl bracelet set from an old necklace.
